New Blog for Raesemann Enterprises

I’ve been working very hard to update my web site. It is amazing the infrastructure that is available to small shops such as mine and the tremendous opportunities that they provide to those of us with the entrepreneurial mind set. It still amazes me that my laptop, cell phone, and wireless broadband card are all I need to work anywhere. In fact, I am sitting at the Atlanta airport waiting for a flight while I write this.

Having said that, it is amazing the investment in time it takes to put together the soft content of the web site. Most people put up a little site that acts as a short brochure for their company and post their contact information and leave it at that. I hope to use this blog to take it one step further.

I realized a while ago how reliant I have become on Google, the Web, and the vast amounts of information that people post to do my work. I don’t think that a day goes by that I don’t do a Google search to see how to quickly accomplish a task that I haven’t done before or to see if someone else has encountered the problem that I am trying to solve that day. After I thought about this I realized that I don’t ever put anything that useful on the web in return. Shame on me. This blog will hopefully rectify that a little.

Being a practical person and a businessman, I also realize that a blog and my web site are the best way for me to market my skills and talents. I hope that as you browse my site that you find it interesting and get a sense of what I am capable of accomplishing and my passion for my work. After all, I can’t achieve my altruistic goal in the above paragraph if I can’t afford to it.

So in conclusion, my goals for this blog are:

  • Share my experiences and knowledge with others and hopefully give back in a small way for all of the knowledge and experience that the information that others post has helped me gain.
  • Promote my skills and abilities and hopefully help my business so that I can eat.
  • Hopefully make you a tiny bit smarter for having read it or at the very least, hope that you don’t feel any dumber for having read it.

I hope that you check back periodically to see what I am up to and in doing so that you occasionally learn something new.

Over the next 3 days I will be attending the Electric Utilities Environmental Conference (http://euec.com) in Tucson, AZ. I will be attending the Mercury CEMS sessions to gain as much additional information as I can prior to implementing my first two Mercury CEMS at St. Johns River Power Park in Jacksonville, FL. I will be posting regular blog entries from the conference and notes as we implement the new systems.
